How can you have some wheat flour, gluten-free yet?
I took some chicken broth and beef Pamba at Kmart, the other day, and the ingredients are salt, sugar, monosodium glutamate, maltodextrin, garlic powder, onion powder, palm oil, wheat flour, spices, sour citrus, caramel, paprika, turmeric and cornstarch. In the ingredients it says "gluten free" but how can it be gluten-free flour Wheat?
From what I can say that the FDA drinker for years with this issue, but has not adopted a regulation with a clear and consistent definition of "no gluten. "I would even say that currently there is no standard labeling site, either so Pamba been able to claim the free product contains gluten but wheat flour. In some regulation is actually spent, just read the ingredient list. The latest information I could find on the regulation potential 2009 is on the link below.
